Green Orientalism, Brown Occidentalism and Chinese Ecological Civilization

چکیده

Among the many things Anthropocene is changing about human ways to live and think, one can include our understanding of cultures their relations. Facing its diverse manifestations (climate change rising temperatures, biodiversity loss oceans acidification, etc.), there a strong temptation resort predefined cultural assumptions provide ready-made narratives guilty scapegoats unlikely saviours satisfying religious need for radical alternatives exotic craving deep otherness. This essay aims critically analyse various attempts culturalize with focus on Green Orientalism Brown Occidentalism—as we will coin different culturalist surrounding notion “Chinese Ecological Civilization”. Our goal promote idea that ubiquity ecological issues calls Transculturality Environmentalism. To achieve such task, deconstruction “onto-culturalism” contemporary sinology necessary.
